climbing hills is about as close to religion as I will ever get. the suffering and minimal reward are reminders of patience. the hillside of tantalus is my church.
the next bicycle race in honolulu is the pineapple hill road race. on tantalus yesterday I spoke to race organizer dan miller who explained the reason for heavy entry fees; miller made sense of it all. the beauty of cycling is that it allows users to stop, talk, and laugh. cycling allows us to be humans.
